Minimum Standards for Entry to Medical Education in Sri Lanka
The Cabinet has approved a proposal, requiring two credit passes and one simple pass in the GCE A/L for Chemistry, Physics and Biology in one sitting, as the minimum standard for entry into medical education. This Cabinet decision taken on 13 December 2017 would initiate the legislative process to Gazette the Minimum Standards for Entry to Medical Education that would be part of the overall Minimum Standards for Medical Education. This is the first instance of legislating minimum standards for education in a professional field of study in Sri Lanka.
